Application of Cooperative Learning Model Type TAI (Team Assisted Individualization) to Science Learning in Class IV SDN 04 PancungSoal, Pesisir Selatan

Abstrak

Education in elementary school is the first step to getting knowledge for students. One of the subjects studied by students in Elementary School is Natural Sciences Education (IPA).Learning Natural Sciences (IPA) is a subject that can train and provide opportunities for objective critical thinking to students. Teachers in the education system play an important role in improving the quality of education.The use of TAI (Team Assisted Individualization) learning models is intended to improve learning outcomes better and involve the active role of students to find their own knowledge, discussing to compile questions, answer questions and express opinions.               The population in this study were all fourth grade students of SDN 04 PancungSoal, Pesisir Selatan Regency, totaling 64 people. The sample of this study uses two classes: experimental class and control class. For sampling this study uses Simple random sampling technique. The type of data used in this study is quantitative data. The instrument used in this study is a test of learning outcomes. The final test is given in the form of 20 objective questions that are adjusted to the learning material. The final test questions given were tested first on the non-sample class in the study and analysis of the items was done using the validity of the test, the difficulty index of the problem, the distinguishing power of the problem and continued with the reliability of the test.               Learning outcomes can be known through the final test given to students during the study. Learning given to both classes of samples with different treatments. In the experimental class the learning was carried out using the TAI (Team Assisted Individualization) learning model and in the control class using conventional learning. This can be seen from the average learning outcomes of the experimental class 52.5 higher than the control class 50.46. The results of hypothesis testing using the t-test were obtained so that the price of t count> t table, where 0.47> 0.10 thus H_1 was accepted, namely the effect of the TAI (Team Assisted Individualization) learning model on the science learning outcomes of grade IV students of SDN 04 PancungSoalKabupatenPesisir Selatan.               Based on the results of the research that has been done, it can be concluded that there is an effect of the use of TAI (Team Assisted Individualization) learning models on the learning outcomes of the fourth grade students on cognitive aspects in SD Negeri 04 PancungSoal, Pesisir Selatan Regency. Science learning outcomes of grade IV students of SD Negeri 04 PancungSoal, Pesisir Selatan Regency, which use the TAI (Team Assisted Individualization) learning model, are better than the learning outcomes of students who use conventional learning.
