Abstrak

The background of this study is the lack of facilities and infrastructure that support the learning process such as libraries, science laboratories, teaching aids. In the learning process, 50% of students do not pay attention to the teacher when explaining the material and students are not on time in collecting the assignments given. This shows the lack of attention, interest, motivation, and concentration of students' learning when they take part in learning so that student activity is not seen. This can also be caused because the method used by the teacher is inappropriate and the learning media is less attractive so that students are less active in learning. This study aims to analyze the external and internal factors of student learning and its relationship to the results of Biology learning in students at Linggo Sari Baganti 4 Junior High School, Pesisir Selatan Regency.

This type of research is a quantitative description with a correlational approach. The subjects of this study were eighth grade students with 55 students. There are 2 types of data, namely primary data obtained from questionnaires and secondary data in the form of student learning outcomes. Data were analyzed by SPSS 17.0. Internal factors have a greater correlation with student learning outcomes, namely 0.921, while external factors are only 0.821. The indicator that has the strongest correlation with learning outcomes comes from internal factors, namely learning concentration of 0.722. Indicators that have the lowest correlation value to learning outcomes are school infrastructure which is an external factor of 0.268. The results showed that the r price obtained was 0.915 or 91.5% at the 0.05 level (2-tailed).

From this study it can be concluded that the relationship between external and internal factors of learning students with the results of science learning Biology students have a very strong relationship. Suggestions from the author to teachers, schools, parents and students to pay more attention to the factors that influence student learning so that student learning outcomes can be increased again.
