The Influence of Direct Object Observation Techniques on Poetry Writing Ability of Class V Students of Maninjau Elementary School 05 Tanjung District, Agam Regency

Abstrak

Education that starts from elementary, junior high, high school to university level, is one of the main learning points that must be learned, namely Indonesian language learning. Indonesian language learning will not be separated from four skills, namely listening, speaking, reading and writing. Which in practice mastery in language skills tends to be sequential, meaning that to be skilled at speaking someone must be able to listen, to be good at writing someone must be good at reading. Because, these four skills are interrelated with one another. One of the skills learned is writing skills.

Writing learning presented by Dalman (2014: 4) explains that writing is expressing ideas or ideas in the form of essays freely. In writing learning, one of them is learning to write poetry. writing learning presented by Kosasih (2011: 206) poetry is a form of literary work that uses beautiful words. And in learning writing also uses direct object observation techniques so students are easier to find ideas in poetry writing.

The type of research used is quantitative research. In the opinion of Arikunto (2013: 27) who said that in this study many numbers were required, ranging from data collection to results. The method used is the experimental method. In this design there are two groups, each of which is chosen randomly.

The average of the final test results in the experimental class is 80.56 and in the control class is 72.37 with the statistical test level (α = 0.05) so that t_count 2.47> t _table 2.04 then H₁ is accepted and H₀ is rejected.

Based on the results of the discussion that has been described, it can be concluded that the direct object observation technique has a significant effect so that the average value of students increases poetry writing skills of fifth grade students of SDN 05 Maninjau Kec. Tanjung Raya Kab. Agam
