Effect of Realistic Mathematics Education Approach on Class II Student Mathematics Learning Outcomes at SDN 52 Parupuk Tabing, Koto Tangah

Abstrak

Mathematics is a basic science that has an important role in the development of science and technology. Other disciplines require mathematics as a tool to solve the problems they face because mathematics is the queen of science. Given the important role of mathematics, the government continues to strive to improve the quality of education. Efforts made by the government include the development and improvement of the curriculum, improving the quality of teachers, continuing education, completing facilities and infrastructure, and so on. Recognizing the importance of the role of mathematics, the improvement of mathematics learning outcomes at the level of education needs to get serious attention. The learning process is one of the supporting achievement of good learning outcomes.

Recognizing the importance of the role of mathematics, the improvement of mathematics learning outcomes at the level of education needs to get serious attention. The learning process is one supporting the achievement of good learning outcomes. The success of learning can be determined by teacher factors and especially in choosing strategies / models / approaches / learning methods that are compatible with learning materials. Because the object of mathematical study is abstract, the teacher must be able to create an atmosphere of learning where the self is able to understand and solve problems in the mathematics learning material itself. One way that can be used by teachers is to apply an instructional approach that can activate students, especially in finding concepts and solving problems of mathematical problems by applying the Realistic Mathematics Education Approach .

Type research this is research experiment . According to Sugiyono (2009: 72 ) "research experiment do in the laboratory while research naturalistic/ qualitative do on natural conditions. In research experiment there is treatment (treatment), whereas in research naturalistic no there is treatment ".

Average results test end student on class experiment 8 4 , 16 and class control 7 4 , 29 with level Hypothesis test obtained t count > t table where ( 1,988 > 1,679 ), as evidenced by the significant level (α= 0.05 which means there is a significant difference to the learning outcomes of Mathematics fikan students use learning Realistic Mathematics Education approach to the learning outcomes of Mathematics grade II SDN 52 Parupuk Tabing Tangah Koto subdistrict.

Based on the research results obtained, it can be concluded that there is an effect of the Realistic Mathematics Education learning approach to the results of grade II mathematics learning in SDN 52 Parupuk Tabing . So that the model can be applied and developed to achieve optimal mathematics learning outcomes in the school.
