2018 Effect of Jigsaw Learning Model on Indonesian Language Learning Students of Class V of 9 Aie Pacah State Elementary School Padang

Abstrak

This research were motivated by the learning process that were still teacher-centered, the lack of student interest in following the learning process so that it influences student learning outcomes. The low student learning outcomes require teachers to improve the learning process, one way to implement a jigsaw learning model. The jigsaw learning model  is  innovation model. The model can be applicated to reading skill, writing, learning and speaking (Huda, 2013:204). This study aims to determine the effect of jigsaw learning on Indonesian language learning outcomes of grade V students of SDN 9 Aie Pacah Padang.

This type of research were experimental using a Randomized Control Group Posttest Only Design research design. The study population was all VA and VB students at SDN 9 Aie Pacah Padang as many as 39 peoples, with total sampling technique. Determination of the experimental class and control class were done by lottery, so that the VB class were obtained as an experimental class with a total of 20 students and VA class as a control class with 19 students. The research instrument were a test of student learning outcomes obtained at the end of the research activity. Data were analyzed using t-test.

Based on data analysis,  it were the average of pre test of control group is 68,50 and post test is 73.42.   the average of pre test of eksperimental group is 64,50  and post test is 79,00. The result of t test,  obtained tcount = 11.139 and ttable = 3.808 that is tcount > ttable then the hypothesis  Ha was accepted and Ho not accepted. It can be concluded that the effect of jigsaw learning on the learning outcomes of VB class II SDN 9 Aie Pacah Padang students.

The research conclution is the effect of jigsaw learning on the learning outcomes of VB class II SDN 9 Aie Pacah Padang students. It’s suggestion for the teacher of Indonesian language to aplicated of Learning Model on Indonesian Language, specially to reading to increase reading capacity for students.
