The Main Person Personality Development and Its Relationship with the Intrinsic Elements of Novel ‘TentangKamu

Abstrak

Personality development was an interesting problem to be discussed in literary works. Personality development and its relationship with intrinsic elements have a close relationship because in literature development of personality is influenced by intrinsic elements.

               Literary theory used as data support for this research was stated by Nurgiyantoro (2010) and Rokmansyah (2014) whereas, personality development theory was proposed by Sujanto, et al (2006). The data in this research were words of personality development of the main character and its relationship to the intrinsic elements of the novel TentangKamu by TereLiye. Data analysis techniques were (1) identifying data, (2) classifying data that has been grouped according to data collection format, (3) interpreting data, and (4) drawing conclusions, by making reports related to the personality development of the main character and its relationship with intrinsic elements.

                    The results of the research were found as follow: First, personality development (1) changing in variety and behavior develops well, (2) changing in organizational behavior and structure Sri with intelligence able to adapt to their environment, (3) increasing in the arena of activity of the main character to remember his past, plan for the future as a matter of pursuing his future, (4) changes in the level of reality Sri responds to every case with the reality he receives, (5) the differentiation behavior always showed the best personality in his life, (6) sratifikasi the main character always hid his heart and had to mind to always look strong and strong in facing every problem in his life. Second, the intrinsic elements of the plot contained in the novel were mixed grooves, the main character in the novel was Sri Ningsih, the background in the novel setting the place, time and atmosphere. Third, the relationship of personality development with intrinsic elements was the setting in which the character was and the treatment of those closest to him who hurt him until he experienced a better development to become a successful person.
