The Influence of Contextual Teaching and Learning Model on Social Studies Learning Outcomes in Class IV SDN 55 Air Pacah
Abstrak
Social studies is one of the compulsory subjects given to elementary school. In general, teachers only use conventional learning. Conventional learning meant here is a learning model that is familiar and often used by teachers in the learning process in the classroom. To overcome these problems the researcher will use the Contextual Teaching and Learning learning model on social studies subjects in the fourth grade of SDN 55 Air Pacah. Based on this, the researcher was interested in conducting an experimental study entitled "The Effect of Contextual Teaching and Learning Model on Social Studies Learning Outcomes in Class IV SDN 55 Air Pacah".              This type of research is an experimental study with a "posttest-only control design". The independent variable in this study is the Contextual Teaching and Learning model and the conventional learning model, while the dependent variable is the social studies learning outcomes. The population in this study were all of students in class IV SDN 55 Air Pacah Padang in the 2017/2018 school year consisting of two classes. The sample in this study were students in grade IV.A as many as twenty-one people and IV.B class as many as sixteen students. The technique in sampling is total sampling. The data taken in this study were students' social studies learning outcomes obtained from the final test in an objective form.               The results showed that the average value of the experimental class was higher than that of the control class (the experimental class averaged 76.0 and the control class averaged 64.1). In the statistical test the price of tcount >  t(0,05;34) (2.53> 2.03) with the level (α = 0.05), the hypothesis of H1 is accepted.              From these data it can be concluded that the Contextual Teaching And Learning Model affects the results of social studies learning in class IV SDN 55 Air Pacah Padang. Thus the Contextual Teaching and Learning model is expected to be used in the learning process to give a better influence on student learning outcomes.ÂKeywords : Contextual Teaching and Learning, Social studies learning outcomes
