The Influence of Word Square Model on the Social Studies Learning Outcomes of Class V Students at Ibnu Syam Islamic Elementary School.

Abstrak

Education is basically a conscious and planned effort to realize the learning atmosphere and learning process so that students actively develop their potential. With regard to education, the teaching and learning process is a very fundamental process. According to Susanto (2014:4) "learning is an activity carried out by someone intentionally in a conscious state to get a new concept, understanding, or knowledge so as to enable a person to change behavior that is relatively fixed both in thinking, feeling, and acting". This success can be seen from student learning outcomes.

The use of learning models in the learning process has significant significance. Learning models are plans or concepts to help students in the learning process and understand learning easily. By using a model in learning, it will help eliminate students' boredom in receiving lessons. One of them is by using word square learning model in social studies learning.

This type of research method is an experimental research method. Sugiyono (2012:107) said that "experimental research can be interpreted as a research method used to find out the influence of certain treatments on others under controlled conditions".

The average final test results of students in the experimental class 77,5 and control class 69,04 with the hypothesis test level obtained tcount> ttable where 2,488> 1,915, as evidenced by the significant level (a) = 0,05. This means that there is a significant difference in the results of social studies learning of fifth grade students who use the word square model at IbnuSyam Islamic Elementary School.

Based on the research results obtained, it can be concluded that there is a word square model effect on the social studies learning outcomes of fifth grade students at IbnuSyam Islamic Elementary School, so that the model can be applied and developed to achieve optimal social studies learning outcomes in the school.
