Effect of Application of Course Review Horay Cooperative Learning Model on Class IV Students' Mathematics Learning Outcomes and Activities of SDN 50 Kuranji in Padang City

Abstrak

Mathematics is one of the fields of study that exist at the level of education, starting from elementary school to college level. In mathematics learning teachers need to make various efforts to design fun activities and can make students play an active role in learning, so that learning becomes more meaningful. However, based on observations at SDN 50 Kuranji in Padang City, the model used by the teacher in the learning process is conventional methods. Therefore, one solution to increase student activity and learning outcomes is to use the Course Review Horay cooperative model in the Mathematics learning process.

            The type of research used is experimental research with the population of this study is all students of class IV SDN 50 Kuranji Padang City as many as 55 students. Which is divided into two groups, namely class IVa and Class IVb. The sampling technique in this research by Total Sampling, then by using random technique got class IVa as an experimental class and class IVb as a control class. The data analyzed in this study are activities obtained from observation sheets and mathematics learning outcomes on cognitive aspects collected through objective and content tests.

            The results of the activity data analysis obtained through observation sheets which are presented in the form of percentages obtained an average activity reached 48.85% with a fairly good category. The results of data analysis of student learning outcomes by testing the hypothesis using the t-test, obtained tcount = 1.727 and t (0.95: 52) = 1.674, so thitung> t (0.95: 52) so that H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected which means that there is an effect of the application of the Course Review Horay cooperative model on the activities and results of fourth grade mathematics learning at SDN 50 Kuranji, Padang City.

Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that there is an effect of the application of the Course Review Horay cooperative model on the activities and results of fourth grade mathematics learning in SDN 50 Kuranji Padang, so that this model can be applied and developed to achieve optimal learning outcomes in the school.
