Code Switchong in Communicating in PT. Mitra Kerinci, Solok Selatan Regency

Abstrak

Language as a communication tool or instrument of interaction is appeared orally and written. It is the most effective means of conveying messages to other people or speech partners. Problems with the use of language are not only billiards, but the problems also found code switching problems when communicating. Code switching is a symptom of switching language usage because of changing situations. It used the theory (Padmadewi, et al, 2014: 64). This research aimed to describe: (1) code switching function (2) type of code switching and (3) cause of speech code switching in communicating the community in PT. Mitra Kerinci, Solok Selatan Regency.

               This research used a qualitative approach and descriptive methods. The sources of data were people in PT. Mitra Kerinci, Solok Selatan Regency, while the object of this research was speech in communicating with the community in the PT. Mitra Kerinci. Data collection was carried out by direct observation technique by observing direct speech made by the community in communicating, recording techniques used to record utterances in communicating the community in PT. Mitra Kerinci, Solok Selatan Regency. The steps taken to analyze the data were as follows: transcribed the recordings into written language, analyzed the code transfer speech and classify the data in written form, concluded the data analysis obtained and discussed the results of data analysis, entered data into the code switching table.

               The data analysis concluded that (1) the code switching function was found to specialize to the intended person and conveyed the call in communication. (2) the type of code switching found in the internal code switching used its own language from Indonesian to the local language and vice versa (3) the cause of code switching it was found that the community was more deeply involved in code switching because of the changing situation and the presence of a third person.
