Actions of the Directive in the Novel of Bidadari-BidadariSurga by TereLiye
Abstrak
Language as an arbitrary sound symbol system, which is then commonly added to that used by a group of community members to interact and identify themselves (Wijana and Rohmadi, 2011: 4). Pragmatics is a branch of linguistics that studies the structure of language externally, namely how the language unit is used in communication. Speech acts are part of speech events, speech acts and speech events are two symptoms found in a process, namely the communication process. Speech acts are acts that are performed by the speaker in conveying or mentioning the intentions of the speakers, whereas in speech events are more seen in the purpose of the event (Chaer and Agustina, 2014: 49).
This study aims to describe the directive speech acts found in the novel Bidadari-BidadariSurga by TereLiye, which includes: (1) asking, (2) asking, (3) governing, (4) forbidding, (5) agreeing, and (5) advise. Data analysis is done by: (1) describing data into the concept of directive speech acts, (2) classifying data based on directive speech acts based on (asking, asking, ordering, prohibiting, approving, advising) (3) interpreting data, and ( 4) formulating conclusions from the results of the study.
Based on data analysis and discussion, the following are found. First request directive speech acts such as; begging, asking, asking. Second, directive speech acts ask questions marked with question marks. Third Act directive speech command marked with an exclamation mark contained in the novel. The four directive speech acts prohibit such; prohibit and restrict speech partners in action. The five directive speech acts agree to give permission, allow, grant speech partners in doing something. The six directive speech acts advise like; giving advice, warning, and suggestions given to partners said by speakers before doing anything. All types of speech acts are always associated with the context of speech that intends to convey the speaker's feelings to the actions that will be carried out by the speech partners contained in the novel.
The conclusions of this study found that directive speech acts in the novel Bidadari-BidadariSurga Work by TereLiye contained six categories of speech acts, ie speech acts requested, speech acts asked, command speech acts, speech acts prohibited, speech acts agreed and speech acts advised. Of these six utterances are often used in interpersonal dialogue contained in the novel Bidadari-BidadariSurgaKaryaTereLiye.
