The influence of attitudes and ways of learning students on mathematics learning outcomes of Grade VIII of SMPN 30 Padang

Abstrak

The number of class VIII SMPN 30 Padang get the results of an incomplete study mathematics, because students have an attitude and a way of learning that is not good. When the teacher was explaining the lesson there are students who do not pay attention, and there are students who are not doing their jobs. Therefore, it is necessary to study the influence of attitude and way of learning mathematics students to the learning outcomes.

This research was conducted to see the effect of the attitude and the way students learn mathematics on learning outcomes. Typically a descriptive study. The population is all students of class VIII SMPN 30 Padang and grade sampled is VIII.4 class with a total of 26 students. Data collection was done by questionnaire, achievement test, and interview.

Based on the data obtained that the contribution of attitudes and a way of learning about mathematics learning outcomes together only amounted to 15.04%, while separately the influence attitudes towards mathematics learning outcomes amounted to only 12.98% and how to learn just by 11.56%. So it can be concluded that students' attitudes and the way either simultaneously or separately did not affect the results of learning mathematics class VIII SMPN 30 Padang.

Based on the conclusions, although the attitudes and ways of learning do not affect the learning outcomes of mathematics it is hoped that the teacher will still pay attention to the attitudes and ways of learning students in order to improve learning outcomes.
