Problem solving is a skill to find problems and solve based on accurate information and data. Model Problem Solving is a way of teaching that can train students to think about finding problems and solving based on accurate information and data. This study aims to determine whether students' problem solving ability by applying the Polya Problem Solving learning model is better than using ordinary learning in class VII Tebo Junior High School 1.

The type of research in this study is experiment. With a population of all seventh grade students of Tebo Junior High School 1 2018/2019 school year there were 178 people. While the samples of class VII 5 and VII 6 were taken by random sampling technique. The data used are student learning outcomes obtained from the final test in both sample classes.

To test the hypothesis, one-way anava technique is used. From the calculation, it is found that t count table with t count = 4.2288 and t table = 1.675 and the level α = 0.05 so that it rejects H0. So it was concluded that students 'problem solving ability by applying the Problem Solving learning model of the Polya model was better than the students' problem solving ability by using ordinary learning in the seventh grade students of Tebo Junior High School 1.

From the results of the study it is recommended that in the process of learning mathematics can apply the Polya learning model, in order to improve students' problem solving abilities.
