Application of Quantum Teaching Learning Model of Grade IX Mathematics Learning Students of SMPN 40 Padang
Abstrak
The background of this research was the low learning outcomes of students of grade IX of SMPN 40, one of which is because learning in the classroom is still less fun and less meaningful. To overcome this, the teachers should be able to design fun and meaningful learning. The learning model that can overcome this was by applying the Quantum Teaching learning model.
This type of research was experimental research. The population studied was grade IX students of SMPN 40 Padang in 2018/2019 in three classes. For the experimental class obtained class IX-1 and for the control class obtained class IX-2.
Based on the results of the study carried out the average difference test with α = 0.05 obtained tcount = 9.68 while t (0.95; 55) = 1.67 this shows tcount > t (0.95; 55). The proposed hypothesis was accepted.
From the research, it was found that the mathematics learning outcomes that used the Quantum Teaching learning model were better than the learning outcomes that applied conventional learning models to grade IX students of SMPN 40 Padang. Based on these conclusions, the researcher suggests that mathematics teachers can apply the Quantum Teaching learning model in mathematics learning as an effort to make learning fun and meaningful.
