. Effect of Application of Snowball Throwing Learning Model on Social Studies Learning Outcomes of Grade III Students of TanjungGadang Elementary School 2 Sijunjung District

Abstrak

Education is a planned effort in developing the process of changing the behavior of students. Changes in behavior such as aspects of knowledge, attitudes, and skills carried out in the process of learning activities. According Sari (2016: 161) states that: "Education is a conscious and planned effort to realize an atmosphere of learning and learning so that students actively develop their potential for religious spiritual strength, self-control, personality, intelligence, noble character, and the necessary skills himself, society, nation and State ". However, based on observations at SDN 2 TanjungGadang, it was obtained information that the learning carried out was still centered on the teacher using the lecture method, question and answer and assignment, so learning was less effective so that the efforts made by researchers in overcoming these problems were applying the Snowball Throwing learning model in the process social studies learning.

The type of research used is experimental research with the population of this study are all students of SDN 2 TanjungGadang in the academic year 2017/2018. While the sample of this study were 37 third grade students of SDN 2 TanjungGadang who were divided into 2 classes, namely class III A and class III B, using Purposive Sampling (class goal) obtained class III A as an experimental class and class III B as a control class. The data analyzed in this study is the score of students' social studies learning outcomes in cognitive domains collected through objective tests.

The results of data analysis by testing the hypothesis using the t-test obtained t count = 2.44 and t table = 2.03. So, t count> t table. So the H1 hypothesis is accepted which means that there is an effect of the Snowball Throwing learning model on the social studies learning outcomes of third grade students at SDN 2 TanjungGadang.

Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that there is an effect of the Snowball Throwing learning model on social studies learning outcomes of third grade students at TanjungGadang Elementary School 2, so that the model can be applied to achieve optimal social studies learning outcomes in the school.
