The purpose of the study was to describe the effect of the Take and Give
learning model on students citizenship education subject results with the theme of
daily needs of class III of SD Negeri 20 Kurao Pagang Kota Padang. Based on the
observations made in class III-A and III-B of SD Negeri 20 Kurao Pagang Kota
Padang, obtained a picture of the teacher not using the media in the learning
process as seen by the teacher using only textbooks for elementary school class III
as the main source of the lesson. In interviews with class III-A and III-B teachers,
information was obtained that there were still man y students who did not
complete citizenship education learning outcomes.
This type of research was experimental research. Randomized Control
Group Posttest Only Design is used for experimental research design . The
population in this study were all third grade students totaling 59 people. Sampling
was determined by total sampling technique. Based on the mid results of students
in the first semester of the 2017/2018 academic year civics course, class III-B was
made into the experimental class and class III-A was made into the control class.
In this study the instrument used multiple choise questions. Normality test,
homogenity test, hypothesis test is used to test the analysis of student learning
outcomes.
Obtained the average value for the experimental class was 83,4 with a
completeness percentage of 80%, while the average value of the control class was
76,48 with a completeness percentage of 65,52%. Based on the results of
hypothesis testing, tcount > ttable
with a confidence level of 0,05 on 2,96 > 2,003 so
that H1 was accepted H0
was rejected.
The treatment given influences students’ learning outcomes, as evidenced
by higher student values compared to convensional learning models in civics
learning. In addition to changing learning habits, motivation and learning
outcomes there are several changes that are seen in applying the take and give
model, namely students look cheerful, actively responding to questions from the
teachers, trying to express opinions and respect the opinions of friends.
