The Influence of Mathematics Anxiety Towards Mathematics Learning Outcome of the Students GradeVIII at SMPN 7 Padang
Abstrak
The things that underlie this research caused is student’s mindset a significant influence on mathematic. Student considers mathematic that is more complicated to be understood. So that it causes students to feel anxiety in interacting on mathematics learning called Mathematics Anxiety. It can be found at the students’ self who is panicky, anxiety. It is looked at when is asked students to make exercise and assignment mathematics.The aims of this study to describe the effect of mathematics anxiety (Anxiety Mathematics) on the students' mathematics learning outcomes grade VIII at SMPN 7 Padang.
This type of research is descriptive research. The population in this study are all the students of SMPN 7 Padang grade VIII in the school year of 2018/2019 . The sampling technique in this study is purposive sampling, with the selection of the class based on the consideration of the class whose students showed the most anxiety symptoms of mathematics and from the results of discussions with teachers of mathematics subjects, obtained class VIII 7 as a research class. The data in this study is the mathematics anxiety score data obtained from the mathematics anxiety questionnaire and the value of students 'mathematics learning outcomes obtained from the students' daily math scores.
The research shows that the correlation coefficient negative sign that is , then determination coefficient obtained 0,36% and for tcount< ttablewith tcount = -0,31 and ttable = 1,70 and grade α = 0.05 thus H0 is accepted. Thus it can be concluded that there is no significant influence between mathematics anxiety towards mathematics learning outcome of the students grade VIII SMPN 7 Padang. Based on the reseach suggested, students must be able to handle self in order that students don’t feel the highest mathematics anxiety, as well as teachers and parents can contribute to help students to descrease mathematic anxiety at the students.
