Abstrak

This research is background because students mathematics learning outcomes are still less than the Minimum Completeness Criteria value. In accordance with the background of the problem, as long as the learning is still centered on the teacher so that students have difficulty issuing opinions and asking questions, students who give their participation in learning are students with higher abilities. An alternative that can be used to increase learning outcomes is by using an active learning strategy type Index Card Match.

This research is an experiment. The population is class VII students of SMP Negeri 30 Padang in the academic year of 2017/2018. The sample in the study was VII.8 students as many as 32 people were experimental class and class VII.9 as many as 31 students are the control class. From the data analysis of both sample classes, hypothesis testing was obtained and  then , it means reject H0 and accept H1.

Then can be concluded that the proportion of students who achieve mastery of mathematics learning outcomes using active learning strategies is the type of Index Card Match higher than the proportion of students who use ordinary learning.

Researchers suggest that teachers can use this learning as an alternative to make students mathematics learning outcomes better.
