Read a cognitive activity or process to find various information contained
in the writing. This means reading is a thought process to understand the text that
is read. By reading students can get information and ideas in reading for
reproduction in another form. These reading skill s are one of the keys to student
success in achieving progress, because by reading they can get the results or ideas
they get. The model is a tool to help students in the learning process and
understand lessons easier. The model that can be used is the Cooperative
Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC) learning model.
This research uses experimental research. According to Sugiyono (2009:
72), "Experimental research is conducted in a laboratory while naturalistic /
qualitative research is carried out under natural conditions. In experimental
research there is treatment (treatment), while in naturalistic research there is no
treatment ". The study population was 62 students of grade II SDN 24 Parupuk
Tabing, namely class IIa 31 people and IIb 31 people and the sampling technique
was purposive sampling. The instrument used in the study is the test of learning
outcomes given to both classes, namely experiment and control.
The average of the final test results of students in the experimental class
was 80.09 and the control class was 74.87 with the Hypothesis Test level which
was obtained t count> t table where (8.28> 2.00), as evidenced by the significant
level (a) = 0.05 this means that there are significant differences in the results of
learning Indonesian reading students who use the Cooperative Integrated Reading
and Composition (CIRC) learning model of the results of learning Indonesian
reading in grade II students of SDN 24 Parupuk Tabing Padang.
Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that there is an
influence of the Cooperative Integrated Reading and Composition (CIRC)
learning model on the results of learning Indonesian reading in grade II students
of SDN 24 Parupuk Tabing Padang. So that the model can be applied to achieve
the optimal learning outcomes of Indonesian reading at the school.
