Natural sciences are those that relate to everyday life and those in the
environment, ranging from natural phenomena to the formation of an objectand
explained by reasoning to get a conclusion. This research is based on the background
because based on the observations that the author did on January 16, 2016 in the fifth
grade of SD Negeri 03 Binuang Kampung Dalam Kota Padang in science learning,
obtained an illustration that the teacher still uses conventional learning methods. The
author also sees teachers not using the media in the lear ning process. This resulted in
students feeling less interested in the subject matter presented by the teacher. The
purpose of this study was to determine differences in students' learning outcomes
between the influence of Jigsaw learning models on science learning outcomes of
fifth grade students of SD Negeri 03 Binuang Kampung Dalam Padang City.
The type of this research is experimental research. The independent variable
in this study is the application of the Jigsaw learning model while the dependent
variable is the learning outcomes of science. The population of this study were all
fifth grade students of SD Negeri 03 Binuang Kampung Dalam Kota Padang in the
2017/2018 school year. A total of 53 students were selected as samples determined by
purposive total sampling technique. The data analyzed in this study ar e the scores of
students'dailylearning learning.The results showed that there was an effect of the
application of the Jigsaw learning model on science learning outcomes in class V SD
03 Binuang Kampung Dalam Padang City.
This can be seen from the acquisition of the average value of the
experimental class (81.32) higher than the acquisition of the average value of the
Control class (73.4) and the results of hypothesis testing using the t-test with
(t_count=2.89 ≥ 2.009=t_table).From the research it can be concluded that the Jigsaw
Cooperative learning model gives a better influence than conventional learning.
Looking at the results of this study,
the Jigsaw learning model needs to be applied an d developed in order to
achieve optimal learning outcomes.
