Indonesian is one of the subjects that is prioritized and is the basis of
support in other subjects. This research is based on the background because based on
the observations that the author did on January 31 to February 6, 2017 in class V SD
Negeri 56 Anak Air Padang in learning Indonesian, obtained an illustration that the
teacher still uses conventional learning methods. The author also sees teachers not
using the media in the learning process. This resulted in students feeling less
interested in the subject matter presented by the teacher. The purpose of this study
was to determine differences in the results of Indonesian students learning between
the Effect of the Application of Picture and Picture Learning Models on Indonesian
Language Learning Outcomes of Grade V Students of SDN 56 Anak Air Padang.
This type of research is experimental research. The independent variable in this study
is the application of the Picture and Picture Learning model, while the dependent
variable is the result of learning Indonesian. The population of this study were all
fifth grade students of SDN 56 Anak Air Padang in the 2016/2017 school year. A
total of 42 students were selected as samples determined by total simple r andom
sampling technique. The data analyzed in this study is the score of Indonesian
language learning outcomes in cognitive domains collected through written tests.
The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was any influence
from the application of the Picture and Picture model on the results of class V
Indonesian learning in SDN 56 Anak Air.
The results showed that there was an effect of the application of the Picture
and Picture learning model on the results of learning Indonesian in class V SDN 56
Anak Air Padang. This can be seen from the acquisition of the average value of the
experimental class (84,04) higher than the acquisition of the average value of the
Control class (75,71) and the results of hypothesis testing using the t -test with
(t_count = 3.92 ≥2 , 02 = t table).
From the study it can be concluded that the Picture and Picture learning
model gives a better influence than conventional learning. Seeing the results of this
study, the learning model needs to be applied and developed in order to achieve
optimal learning outcomes.
