Increasing Student Activity and Learning Outcomes by Using a Class IV Circuit Learning Model in SDN 18 Pasaman Barat

Abstrak

This research was motivated by the low activity and learning outcomes of Civics in fourth grade students at SD Negeri 18 Pasaman Barat, especially the material of the district, provincial government structure. This is caused by during the learning process, there are passive students, listening alone no one asks and the teacher just fixates on the book so that students are saturated when learning which results in low student learning outcomes. Therefore the researchers tried to use the Circuit Learning model to improve the learning outcomes of fourth grade students at SDN 18 Pasaman Barat.

The purpose of this study was to describe the increase in activity and learning outcomes of grade IV students in answering questions on Civics learning by using the Circuit Learning model at SDN 18 Pasaman Barat. This research was carried out in the even semester of 2017/2018 school year with material that was in line with the curriculum and syllabus on mathematics learning. This research was carried out in Class IV at SDN 18 Pasaman Barat.

This research uses Classroom Action Research. Classroom action research consists of four components, namely: planning, action, observation / observation, and reflection. This study consists of two cycles, each cycle consisting of two learning. Data collection in this study uses teacher observation sheets, student observation sheets and items.

Based on the results of the study showed an increase in the success indicators from cycle I to cycle II, in the first cycle can be seen Increasing student activity in answering questions by 48% which is the first cycle of 48% to 92%, in line with that student activity in the discussion increased by 56 % that is the first cycle of 40% to 96% in the second cycle, with increasing student activity in answering questions and discussions have an impact on the average student learning completeness in which cycle I was 52% to 84.29% in cycle II.
