The progress of the Indonesian people can be achieved through good education,
with various efforts to improve the quality of education, which is expected to
increase the dignity of the Indonesian people. To achieve this, education reforms
in Indonesia need to be carried out continuously to create a world of education
that is adaptive to changing times.
Based on observations made in class V SDN No.29 Rantau Batu Pasar, it
was found that learning was still one-way and monotonous. Students do not play
an active role and prefer to play, because students only pay attention and record
the material given by the teacher. As well as the lack of use of th e game method in
the learning process. Therefore, one solution to improve student learning
outcomes is, by using the snake ladder game method in the process of learning
mathematics.
The type of research used was experimental research with the population
of this study were all grade V students of SDN No.29 Rantau Batu Pasar as many
as 39 students who were divided into two classes namely VA class and VB class.
The sample in this study was carried out using the Total Sampling technique, so
that the VA class was obtained as the experimental class and the VB class was the
control class. The data analyzed in this study is the final test of the mathematics
learning outcomes of fifth grade students collected through objective tests and
stuffing.
The results of data analysis by testing the hypothesis using the t-test
obtained t count = 2.733 and t table = 2.026. This means that t count  t table, and
it means that H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted so it can be concluded that the use
of this snake ladder game method affects the learning outcomes of class VA
students of SDN No.29 Rantau Batu Pasar.
Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that there is an effect
of snake ladder game method on students' mathematics learning outcomes. For
this reason, it is recommended for class teachers to learn mathematics to be able
to apply the snake ladder game method in the learning process.
