Mathematics learning is a teaching and learning process built by the teacher to
develop students 'creativity in thinking that can improve students' thinking skills,
and can improve the ability to construct new knowledge as an effort to improve
good mastery of mathematical material (Susanto 2013: 186 -187). Based on
observations in class IV SD Negeri 108 / VIII Sarimulya, students were seen to be
less active in asking quest ions about the material being studied. When the teacher
asks students to answer students 'questions more silently, and when the teacher
gives training, there are still many students who follow the example of their
friends' answers. Therefore, one solution to improve student activity and learning
outcomes, namely by using the Snowball Throwing Learning model in the process
of learning mathematics.
The type of research used was experimental research with the population of this
study were all fourth grade students of SD Negeri 108 / VIII Sarimulya as many
as 31 students who were divided into two classes namely class IVA and class
IVB. The sample in this study was done using the Total Sampling technique, and
obtained the IVA class as the control class and IVB as the experimental class. The
data analyzed in this study were the learning outcomes of mathematics on
cognitive aspects collected through objective tests and entries.
The results of data analysis by testing hypotheses using the t-test obtained t count
= 2,281 and t (0,05; 29) = 2,040. So thitung> t (0.05; 29) then the hypothesis is
accepted that there is the influence of the Snowball Throwing Learning model on
the mathematics learning outcomes of the fourth grade students of SD Negeri
108/VIII Sarimulya.
Based on the results of the research, it can be concluded that there is an influence
of the Snowball Trowing Learning model on students' mathematics learning
outcomes. For that Snowball Trowing Learning model can be applied when
implementing the mathematics learning process.
