Application of Quantum Teaching Model on Science Vocational Class V Students of SD Negeri 04 Guguk Malintang, Padang Panjang City

Abstrak

Education is one of the determining factors in efforts to improve human resources. Education always strives for a better human life. In improving the quality of education, the Indonesian government has carried out improvements to the education system, both at the Elementary, Middle School and Higher Education levels. The nature of Natural Science (IPA) according to Trianto (2011: 153) states that the IPA is related to how to systematically find out about nature, so that the IPA is not only mastering a collection of knowledge in the form of facts, concepts, or principles but also is an invention. The use of models in the learning process has significant significance. By using a model in learning, it will help eliminate students' boredom in receiving lessons. One of them is by using the Quantum Teaching model in science learning.

               This type of research is experimental research. The population in this study were all grade 5 students of SDN 04 Guguk Malintang, totaling 54 students, the sample selection technique used saturated sampling. In this case the experimental class is VA class while the control class is VB. Determination of the experimental class and control class is done randomly. The instrument used is a test of learning outcomes. Data analysis in this study was carried out using normality, homogeneity, and hypothesis tests. According to Lufri (2005: 60) argues that "Experimental research is research that carries out treatment (manipulation) of the research variables (independent variables).

               The average of the final test results of students in the experimental class 81.11 and control class 66.48 with the Hypothesis Test level obtained t count> t table where (5.43> 0.1706), as evidenced by the significant level (= 0.05 This means that there are significant differences in science learning outcomes of students who use quantum teaching learning models of science learning outcomes for grade V students of SDN 04 Guguk Malintang, Padang Panjang.

               Based on the research results obtained, it can be concluded that there is an influence of the Quantum Teaching model on the science learning outcomes of fifth grade students of SDN 04 Guguk Malintang, Padang Panjang. So that the model can be applied and developed to achieve optimal science learning outcomes in the school.
