Abstrak

This research is motivatedby the lack of writing skills of students in learning Indonesian, and teachers tend to use lecture and question and answer. The purpose of this research is to improve the writing skills of fourth students in SD 31 Pasar Ambacang using Media Figure Series. This research is a classroom action research (CAR). The purpose of this study was to determine whether the use of the media image series can improve students' essay writing skills. The research was conducted in two cycles. The research instrument used in this study is teacher observation sheet, sheet prewriting stage, stage writing, and stage pascapenulisan. Based on the research that the students' skills have increased. From the analysis of writing skills in the first cycle prewriting stage with an average of 64 experienced an increase in cycle II with an average of 73, at the writing stage of the first cycle with an average of 67 experienced peningkan the second cycle with an average of 82, subsequent to pascapenulisan stage in the first cycle with an average of 61 experienced an increase in cycle II with an average of 71. From the results obtained it can be concluded that by using the media image series can improve students' essay writing skills. From the results of the study suggested that teachers can implement media image series in other subject areas.
