Abstrak

This research is motivated by the lack of participation and learning outcomes of students in the fifth grade at SDN 05 Padang Pasir. Because during the learning process, teachers are more likely to use the lecture method. The purpose of this study is to increase student participation and achievement in learning civics class V with the Group Investigation model in SDN 05 Padang Pasir. Type of research is a class act. The research object fifth grade students of SDN 05 Padang Pasir. The research instrument used was a teacher observation sheet activities, student participation and observation sheet sheet test student learning outcomes. Based on the results of the study looks to improve the quality of teachers in the first cycle activity (49.99%) and increased in the second cycle (73.53%). With the increasing quality of teachers in applying the Group Investigation model of participation and learning outcomes of students in class V in the first cycle obtained an average score of 39.06% participation ask, answer 35.93% and 31.24% concluded. In the second cycle obtained an average percentage score of 65.62% participation for asking, answering 68.74% and 59.37% concluded. Learning outcomes of students who completed the first cycle of 37.5%, while in the second cycle learning outcomes of students who completed 84.37%. From the results of this study concluded that participation and learning outcomes can be improved by using the Civics Group Investigation model. Based on this study, researchers suggested to teachers in order to implement the Group Investigation model.
