The Effect of Jigsaw accompanied by Student Worksheets (LKS) on Social Studies Learning Outcomes of Class VI in SDN 31 Pasar Ambacang Padang City

Abstrak

Education is an important thing in the development of human resources, educators in this case such as teachers as one of the elements that play an important role in it, because it has the responsibility to develop tasks and overcome any problems that arise. In elementary school teachers are required to be able to master all subjects, one of them is Social Sciences (IPS). This research is based on the results of observations at SDN 31 PasarAmbacang Padang City. Some problems include (1) students busy themselves in learning, (2) lack of activity and student participation in learning, (3) teachers tend to use textbooks in learning and rarely use learning media, (4) teachers are more likely to use conventional methods such as lectures, question and answer, and assignments. To overcome this problem researchers will use the Jigsaw learning model accompanied by Student Worksheets (LKS) in social studies learning for fourth grade students at SDN 31 Pasar Ambacang, Padang City. Based on this, researchers are interested in conducting research with the title "The Effect of Jigsaw Learning Model along with Student Worksheets (LKS) on Social Studies Learning Outcomes of Class VI Students at SDN 31 in PasarAmbacang, Padang City".               This type of research is an experimental study with the design of "Intact-Group Comparison". The independent variables in this study are Jigsaw learning models accompanied by Student Worksheets (LKS) and conventional learning models, while the dependent variable is social studies learning outcomes. The population in this study were all students of class VI SDN 31 Pasar Ambacang, Padang City in the 2018/2019 school year consisting of 2 classes. The sample in this study were students of class VI.A as many as 22 students and students of class VI.B as many as 21 students. The technique in sampling is by saturated sampling. The data taken in this study is the social science learning outcomes of students in the cognitive domain obtained through the final test in an objective form.               The results showed that the average value of the experimental class was higher than the control class (the experimental class had an average value of 79.3 and the control class had an average value of 67.4). In statistical tests the price of tcount> t (0.05; 41) (2.11> 2.019) with a level (α = 0.05), then the hypothesis H1 is accepted.               From these data it can be concluded that the Jigsaw learning model accompanied by Student Worksheets (LKS) influences the social studies learning outcomes of class VIStudents at SDN 31 in PasarAmbacang, Padang City. Thus the Jigsaw learning model accompanied by Student Worksheets (LKS) is expected to be used in the learning process to provide a better influence on student learning outcomes.
