Effect of Teams Games Tournament Learning Model on Learning Outcomes of Class II Students on Social Studies Learning in Class III SDN 31 Pasar Ambacang

Abstrak

IPS is a compulsory subject given at the elementary school level. According to Lindawati (2016: 68) "Social Studies is one of the subjects at the level of education at the elementary school level, which is developed in an integrated manner by taking essential concepts from the social sciences and the humanities". In general, teachers only use conventional learning. To overcome this problem researchers will use the Teams Games Tournament learning model on social studies subjects in grade III SDN 31 Pasar Ambacang. Based on this, the researcher is interested in conducting experimental research with the title "The Effect of Teams Games Tournament Learning Model on Learning Outcomes of Class III Students on Social Studies Learning at SDN 31 in Ambacang Market, Padang City"
This type of research is an experimental study with the design of "posttes-only control design". The independent variable in this study is the Teams Games Tournament learning model, while the dependent variable is social studies learning outcomes. The population in this study were all third grade students of SDN 31 Pasar Ambacang Padang in the 2018/2019 school year consisting of 2 classes. The sample in this study were class III.A students as many as 19 students and students of class III.B as many as 19 students. The technique in sampling is by total sampling. The data taken in this study is the social science learning outcomes of students in the cognitive domain obtained through the final test in an objective form.
The results showed that the average value of the experimental class was higher than the control class (the experimental class had an average value of 78.9 and the control class had an average value of 67.9). In the statistical test the price of tcount> t (0.05; 36) (2.33> 2.02) with a level (α = 0.05) then the hypothesis H1 is accepted.
From these data it can be concluded that the Teams Games Tournament learning model influences the learning outcomes of class III students in social studies at SDN 31 Pasar Ambacang Padang. Thus the Teams Games Tournament learning model is expected to be used in the learning process to give a better influence on student learning outcomes.
