Relationship of Leg Muscle Power and Balance with Smash Skills in Kedeng Sepak Takraw Students in Senior High School 2 X 11 Wood Planting in Padang Pariaman District

Abstrak

The sepak takraw game is a blend of mixed sports from football and Bolavolli, and the game must not touch the ball with both hands. Kedeng smash is a smash that is usually hit with the back of the foot or the outside of the foot and uses a leg and a fairly high jump, then followed by a movement of the hip shake when hitting the ball (Huda 2015: 29). Power is about the dynamic and explosive strength and speed of muscle contraction and involves spending maximum muscle strength in the fastest time possible (Ismaryati 2006: 59). Balance is the ability to maintain the position or position of the body in a state of silence or movement (Harsono 1988: 223).               The population in this study were students of SMPN 2 X 11 Kayu Tanam who participated in 34 sepak takraw extracurricular activities. Sampling uses a total sampling technique that is played by 34 people, the test instruments used are, vertical jump, modified bass test, and kedeng smash skills. Date analyzed using normality test, submitting hypotheses with product moment correlation and multiple correlation.               Hypothesis testing shows, (1) Leg muscle power is related to the smash skills of sepak takraw students in SMPN 2 X 11 Kayu Tanam in Padang Pariaman Regency were obtained =3.73> =2.03. (2) The balance there is a relationship with the smash skills of kedeng sepak takraw students in the SMPN 2 X 11 Wood Middle School Planting in Padang Pariaman Regency obtained = 2.79> =2.03. (3) Power of leg muscles and balance together there is a relationship with the smash skills of kedeng sepak takraw students in SMPN 2 X 11 Kayu Tanam in Padang Pariaman Regency obtained fhitung=2.55> ftabel=1.80, Then H0 is refused Ha accepted.               From the results of the hypothesis and discussion of the results of the study, the first hypothesis, the second hypothesis, and the third hypothesis there is a relationship with the kedeng smash skill, then H0 is rejected and Ha is accepted.  Key Words : Power of Leg Muscles, Balance, Kedeng Smash
