Analysis Difficulty in Mathematical Problem Solving Seventh Grade Students of SMP Adabiah Padang, Mathematics Education, the Faculty of Education University of Bung Hatta
Abstrak
This research is motivated by the many students have difficulty in solving mathematical problems, particularly in the comparison subject Adabiah Padang junior academic year 2017/2018.
This type of research is descriptive and qualitative research methods. The study population was all students of class VII SMPAdabiah Padang. Choosing sampling using purposive sampling and VII1 class selected as the study sample. The research instrument in the form of student test results and interviews.
The results of this study show that: 1) 90% of students have difficulty understanding the question, 2) 99% siswamengalami problem-solving difficulties in planning, 3) 73% siswakesulitan in solving problems, 4) checking back no student is to re-examine and answer process. Based on interviews and tests showed some of the causes difficulty in answering math student, which is derived from internal factors and external factors.
The researchers suggest that given the difficulties experienced by the students can be reduced if possible teacher gives exercises done by students in the form of word problems,
