The Influence of Guide Note Taking Learning Method to Understanding Mathematical Concepts of Class XI Students of SMP 3 Pariaman.
Abstrak
This research is motivated by the learning outcomes of class XI students of SMPN 3 Pariaman, which on average still occupy a low predicate with one of the causes, namely a lack of understanding of students' concepts. Other causes include student participation in taking notes, paying attention, asking questions and answering more diverse questions were still lacking. To overcome those problem, one of the efforts taken is to apply the Guide Note Taking learning method.
The type of research was experiment. The population in the study was 9th grade students of SMPN 3 Pariaman in academic year 2018/2019 consisting of seven classes. Samples were taken after normality test, population homogeneity test and average similarity test. The sample selection was done by taking 2 classes based on the advice of the 9th grade mathematics study teacher who had similarities on average, and the selected classes were IX.2 class students as the experimental class and IX.3 class students as the control class.
Students’ final test data that contains indicators of concept understanding in both classes of samples are normally distributed and homogeneous. Based on the analysis of student final test results data by calculating the hypothesis test using the t-test obtained while because so the proposed hypothesis is accepted. It can be concluded that the learning outcomes of students who apply the guide note taking learning method there was an influence on the understanding of the mathematical concepts of class IX students of SMPN 3 Pariaman.
From the results of this study, researcher suggests that teachers or readers can use this learning method as an effort to make understanding concepts and the results of students' mathematics learning better.
