Indonesian language is one of the compulsory subjects given at the elementary school level. The Indonesian Language subject in Elementary School is expected to shape the ability of students to understand the conditions of writing, starting from vacation, watching trips, to writing it. "In general teachers only use learning conventional. Conventional learning which is intended here is a learning model that is common and often used by teachers in the learning process in the classroom. To overcome this problem the researcher will use the learning model Contextual Teaching and Learning on Indonesian subjects in class V of elementary school 07Tanah Air PadangUtara. Based on this, the researcher is interested in conducting a research experiment with the title "The Effect of Learning Model Contextual Teaching and Learning on Learning Outcomes in the fifth grade of elemantery school 07 Padang, North Sumatra".

This type of research is an experimental study with the design of "posttes-only control design". The independent variable in this study is the Contextual Teaching and Learning model and conventional learning models, while the dependent variable is the learning outcomes of Indonesian. The population in this study were all fifth grade students of elementary school 07Tanah Air PadangUtara Padang in the 2017/2018 school year consisting of 2 classes. The sample in this study were VA grade students as many as 22 students and VB class students as many as 22 students. The sampling technique is by total sampling. The data taken in this study is the cognitive learning outcomes of students that are obtained through the final test in the form of writing.

The results showed that the average value of the experimental class was higher than the control class (the experimental class averaged 87.09 and the control class averaged 79.0). In the statistical test the price of tcount> t (0.05; 34) (2.53> 2.03) with a level (α = 0.05) then the H1 hypothesis is accepted.

From these data it can be concluded that the Contextual Teaching And Learning learning model influences the learning outcomes of Indonesian in grade V SDN 07 Tanah Air Padang Utara. Thus, the learning model of Contextual Teaching and Learning is expected to be used in the learning process to give a better influence on student learning outcomes.
