Development of Mathematics Based Constructivism LKPD on Circle Material in Grade VIII of SMPN 7 Padang
Abstrak
The current era of globalization guidelines implies that students in the learning process not only accept and imitate what is given by the teacher, but must actively act on the basis of their own abilities and beliefs. This requires educators to be more creative in providing and compiling learning media including teaching materials. The low level of attention and participation of students during the learning process of mathematics, because the media used are only books of mathematics class VIII curriculum 13, so learning is still centered of teacher.
Based on the above problems, the researcher developed a mathematical constructivism based Student Worksheet (LKPD) on the material in the VIII class of SMP 7 Padang. This math LKPD is expected to help students to understand concepts in the material, as well as active facilitators. This math LKPD was developed using a constructivism approach. LKPD is composed of material in the form of illustrations and drawings, group assignments, as well as practice questions, sourced from relevant teaching materials and then printed in the form of ordinary notebooks. The purpose of this study is to produce constructive-based mathematical LKPD that is valid, practical, and effective in the Circle material.
This type of research is research development or research & development. Mathematical LKPD based on constructivism was developed with a four-door (4-D) model. This development is carried out in 3 stages, namely the stage of defining, designing, and developing. With the results of the validity test questionnaire analysis, it was concluded that mathematical constructivism-based LKPD was very valid, amounting to 83.33%, very practical, which amounted to 89.46% and was declared effective with 80% classical completeness.
Therefore it can be concluded that constructivism-based mathematical LKPD in the circle material of class VIII of SMP 7 Padang is valid, practical, and effective to be used for learning media in mathematics. Based on the results of this study, researchers suggest LKPD can be used as an alternative medium by teacher.
