Relationship Of Parental Participation With Biology Learning Outcomes Of Class X Public High School 1 Sipora District Mentawai Island. Essay

Abstrak

This research is based on the background of student learning outcomes in low biology subjects, still lack of participation from parents, and lack of student motivation in learning due lack of participation from parent. This study aims to determine the relationship of parental participation with biology learning outcomes obtained by classX Of SMA Negeri 1 Sipora Mentawai.

            This type of research is descriptive with a sample 80 student. This research variable consist of two variables X parental participation and variable Y student learning outcomes. Thera are two types of data types, namely primary data and secondari data. Data was analyzed using the product moment formula.

            Based on the result of the study indicate that parental participation is icluded in the high category of 50%. While learning outcomes show resultof 51,25% in the good category. Based on the calculation of the correlation coeficient from the whole obtained the price r²0,594 which means there is a sufficient relationship between the participation of parents with learning outcomes.

            Suggestion in this study to the next researcher who is interested in this problem the authors suggest that they can develop this research for other factors that can effect student learning outcomes.
