The Using Figurative Language in The Event of Alek Nagari Indang Tigo Sandiang in Kabupaten Padang Pariaman

Abstrak

Language style is a way of expressing thoughts through language in a way that shows the soul and personality of the writter (language user), (Keraf, 2006 : 113). language style functions can be formulated as a tool to influense the reader; describing atmosphere and nuances; increasing the interest of the reader or speaker (Rinaldi, 2018 : 42).

This study aims to describe the rhetorical language style contained in the event Alek Nagari Indang Tigo Sandiang in Kabupaten Padang Pariaman thoroughCompact Disc digital Video (VCD) Indang Tradisi Pariaman Asli Vol 4 Seri 1. this research is qualitative research, the data collection technique of this research is done in a way: (1) listen to every greeting contained in Compact Disc digital Video (VCD) Indang Tradisi Pariaman Asli Vol 4 Seri 1, (2)  describes data, (3) transcribing data into written language, and (4) record data that will become research material into the table.  While the data analysis technique of  this  research was carried out by stages: (1) grouping data into data analysis tables, (2) determine what language style is used by the indang group in tradisional arts. Indang Tigo Sandiang by relating it to a theoty that is relevant to the style of rhetorical language, (3) describes the results or the anaysis, (4) summarizes the resuls of data analysis.

Based on results of data analysis and discussions, there are 49 data on rhetorical language style in the event Alek Nagari Indang Tigo Sandiang in Kabupaten Padang Pariaman obtained through Compact Disc digital Video (VCD) Indang Tradisi Pariaman Asli Vol 4 Seri 1 includes language style: epistrova repetition 4 data, naphorous repetition 16 data, aconance 6 data, anastrophic 3 data, simploke repetition 2 data, alliteration 2 data, proteron hysteron 1 data, apostrophe 1 data, hyperbol 2 data, litotes 1 data, prolepsis or antipation 1 data, correction or epanortosis 1 data, rhetorie or rhetorical guestions 3 data, climax 4 data, and anticlimactic 1 data.

Thus, it can be concluded that, the most dominant use of rhetorical language style in Compact Disc digital Video (VCD) Indang Tradisi Pariaman Asli Vol 4 Seri 1 the most dominant is anaphorie repetition language style, that is as many as 16 data that can be seen I the repetition of words and sentences by way singing or didendangkan. As for the intentions conveyed through the anaphora repetition language style, which is as decoration and also fun for the listeners, the decorative expression was delivered by tukang dikia, tukang karang, and anak indang at Alek Nagari Indang Tigo Sandiang event in Kabupaten Padang Pariaman.
