The problem in this study is that the ability of javelin students in Painan High School 1 has not been maximized. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship of flexibility and arm muscle power of Painan 1 High School students.

This type of research is the correlation (correlation) with the population are high school students 1 Painan, totaling 61 people. Sampling in this study using Purposive Sampling method, amounting to 30 male students only. The instrument tests used were waist rotation flexibility test, medicine ball test, javelin throwing ability. By using the normality test (liliefors) and data analysis techniques with product moment correlation, at a significant level (α = 0.05).

Then the results of the study show that: (1) There is a relationship between flexibility and the ability to throw the javelin results at Painan High School 1 students. (2) There is a relationship between arm muscle explosive power to the ability of the javelin throwing results of SMA Negeri 1 Painan students (3) The third hypothesis is that there is no significant relationship between flexibility and arm muscle explosive power to the ability of the javelin throwing results of SMA Negeri 1 Painan students
