PENINGKATAN AKTIVITAS DAN HASIL BELAJAR MEMBACA SISWA KELAS IV MELALUI STRATEGI CARD SORT DI SDN 05 MARABAU PARIAMAN

Abstrak

The background of this research is the lack in student’s reading activity because of illiteracy and boring learning method. The purpose of this research is to describe activity and learning outcomes through card sort strategy in IV class SDN 05 Marabau Pariaman. Card sort strategy was proposed by Ahmad Sabri, and the application in reading skill was proposed by Henry Guntur TARIGAN. This research is class measuring research that consists of two cycles. Data collection was analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Learning method is speech and discussion. Subject in this research is 39 students of IV grades. Instrument of this research is observation sheets of teacher’s activity, observation sheets of student’s activity, and learning outcomes. Results show that there an increasing in student’s activity in each cycle. In first cycle, percentage of student’s reading activity is 39.75% rise into 71.79% in second cycles. Reading skill learning is increasing from 42.31% in first cycle into 84.61% in second cycles. Learning outcomes also increase from 18.33 in first cycle into 76.79 in second cycles. Based on results, it can be conclude that student’s reading skill with card sort strategy increase student’s activity and learning outcomes in IV class SDN 05 Marabau Pariaman.
