PENINGKATAN HASIL BELAJAR IPS SISWA KELAS V DENGAN MENGGUNAKAN PENDEKATAN CTL DI SDN 12 PINANG AWAN KABUPATEN SOLOK SELATAN

Abstrak

The background of the research is the process of teaching and learning process did not run as expected yet. The writer did not use the approach which was still not suitable with the material in learning process, it also did not give the experience directly to the students, and it still used the conventional method in this case used lecture method. The purpose of this research was to investigate the improvement of learning achiviement in social science of students at class V SDN 12 Pinang Awan kabupaten Solok Selatan by using CTL approach.

This research was calssroom action research. This research was also located in SDN 12 Pinang Awan which the number of subject of the students at class V were 20 students. This research was done in 2 cycles. The finding of the research shows that the use og CTL approach can improve students achiviement in social science at class V SDN 12 Pinang Awan. The improvementcan be seen by the mean score of the students achiviement in cycle 1 was 62,5. There were 11 students who were passed and there were 9 students who were failed by the percentage of the students’ achiviement was 55%. In cycle II, it was 70,25% of the students who were passed and there were 4 sutdents who were failed. But the percentage of the students’ achiviementin cycle II was 80%. Based on the finding above, this research can be concluded that the CTL apprach can improve the learning achievement of social science of the students class V SDN 12 Pinang Awan, and also it can be used to be an alternatif method to improve the students’ learning achievement.
