Abstrak

This research is motivated by the learning process has not run as expected. I have not been using methods appropriate to the material in the learning process, do not provide hands on experience to the students, still use the lecture method. This study aims to improve the reading ability of intensive Indonesian in fourth grade Elementary School District 05 Taratak Bukareh Pauh Duo using DRTA strategy. DRTA strategy is a strategy that focuses on student involvement in predicting and proving predictions when they read the text. This research is a classroom action research. This study is located at SDN 05 Taratak Bukareh, fourth grade students study subjects who were 21 people. The research was conducted in two cycles. The findings showed that the use of strategies to improve literacy DRTA intensive. The improvement can be seen from the average student learning outcomes cycle I was 64. Students who complete 10 people and 11 people who did not complete the learning outcomes of students completeness percentage reaches 64%. On Cycle II reached 72 students who completed 17 people and 4 incomplete. While the percentage of completeness student learning outcomes in second cycle students is 72%. Based on the findings of the above study concluded that, DRTA strategies can improve the ability of intensive reading in the fourth grade at SDN 05 Taratak Bukareh, and can be used as an alternative to improve student learning outcomes.
