Duties And Authorisations Of The Election Commission On Improving Public Political Participation At The 2019 Election In Solok District
Abstrak
This research aims to determine the efforts and constraints of the District KPU in Solok increasing the community's response and knowledge of the 2019 election. This research was carried out because of the lack of community response in the election socialization, as well as the lack of public knowledge about the 2019 election. According to Maslekah (2016: 38) Messages in the socialization to the public need to be done in an interesting, informative, simple, and easy to understand manner. Media outreach can be done in the form of voting simulations, or by placing public service announcements in print and electronic media, outdoor advertising (outside the home) with banners and billboards in strategic places, distribution of brochures, stickers, etc.The type of research used is descriptive with a qualitative approach. The subject of this research is the Commissioner of the KPU district of Solok, the research respondent is the Commissioner of Socialization Division, technical Kasubag and chairman of the KPU of Solok Regency. Data is collected using interview guidelines and analyzed by the Miles and Huberman methods. The results of this research show the efforts of the KPU of Solok district in increasing the response and knowledge of the public about election 2019 form Democratic volunteers with the aim of becoming a liaison to the KPU community, conducting face-to-face dissemination Beginner voters with KPU's program goes to school/goes to campus, socialization on women's voters in the form of mass gymnastics, socialization in community communities, people with disabilities, and the general public by holding concerts and elections Run, there is a smart House elections as a place of discussion of elections and the utilization of social networks Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and KPU websites and do simulation of elections in TPS. KPU constraints in socializing the extent of the area of Solok Regency consisting of 14 districts 74 Nagari and limited personnel KPU of Solok District, as well as a restricted socialization time. The conclusion is the Solok Regency KPU has carried out its duties well.
