Civic Education (PKn) is subject in schools that have educational materials in the form of science and character that are based on equipping students. In general, the teachers only used conventional learning such as lectures and do not use learning media, so there are some students who pay less attention. The solution given is to use the Quantum Teaching learning model on the learning outcomes of civic education students in class V at SDN 34 Air Pacah Padang. Based on this, the researcher is interested in conducting an experimental study with the title “Effect of the Quantum Teaching Learning Model on the Learning Outcomes of Civic Education in Class V at SDN 34 Air Pacah".

This type of this research is an experimental research by Posttest-only control design. The independent variable in this research is the Quantum Teaching learning model and conventional learning model, while the dependent variable is the student social studies learning outcomes.The population in this research is all students of class V at SDN 34 Air Pacah for the 2018-2019 school year consisting of 2 classes. The sample of this research is 28 students of class V-A and 28 students of class V-B. The technique in taking the sample is by means of Porposive Sampling. The data taken in this research are learning outcomes of civic education, cognitive domain students obtained through the final test in an objective form.

The results showed the average value of the experimental class was higher than the control class in experimental class is 83.9 and control class is 71.9. The cost in statistical tests oft-count> t-table (2.50>2.055) with a level (α = 0.05) then the H1 hypothesis is accepted.

From these data, it can be concluded that the Quantum Teaching learning model influences the learning outcomes of Civic Education in class V at SDN 34 Air Pacah. Thus, the Quantum Teaching learning model is expected to be applied to Civic Education.
