The Relationship between Interest and Learning Motivation Towards Science Learning Outcomes Grade V Students of SDN 03 Binuang Kampung Dalam Padang

Abstrak

Interest and motivation to learn is one of the factors that influence students to obtain good learning outcomes and on target. According to (Usman, 2000: 27), "seeing that student interest is a major factor determining the degree of student learning activeness". (Aritonang, 2008: 14), states that "learning motivation is the overall driving force within students that gives rise to learning activities and gives direction to learning activities, so that the desired goals of the learning subject are achieved". Based on this background researchers are interested in conducting research with the title Relationship Interests and Learning Motivation Against Science Learning Outcomes Class V Students of SDN 03 Binuang Kampung Dalam Padang.                   This type of research is a correlational descriptive study. The research variables are basically the object of research or what is the focus of a research that is determined by research to be studied so that information is obtained about it. The results showed that there was a relationship of interest and motivation with the science learning outcomes of fifth grade students at SDN 03 Binuang Kampung Dalam Padang.               The average interest and motivation of students learning Natural Sciences Class V SDN 03 Binuang Kampung Dalam Padang is (X1) 71.76 (X2) 70.8, the average learning outcomes of students learning Natural Sciences Class V SDN 03 Binuang Kampung Dalam Padang is 74.81 . There is a significant relationship between interest and motivation with learning outcomes in Natural Sciences Class V SDN 03 Binuang Kampung Dalam Padang. This is indicated by the calculated value of rtable X1 (0.278> 0.268) and the significance value of 0.042, which means that it is smaller than 0.05 (0.042 <0.05), the calculated value of rtable X2 (0.274> 0.05).<0.0268) and the significance value equal to 0.045, which means less than 0.05 (0.045<0.05).                     Thus it can be concluded that (1) There is a relationship between learning interest and the learning outcomes of Class V Natural Sciences in SDN 03 Binuang Kampung Dalam Padang.
