Abstrak

Mathematics is one of the compulsory subjects given at the elementary school level. According to Hamzah (2014: 47), the notion of mathematics is not defined easily and precisely considering there are many functions and roles of mathematics in other fields of study. If there is a definition of mathematics then it is tentative, depending on the person who defines it. If someone is interested in numbers, then he will define mathematics is a collection of numbers that can be used to solve the problem of calculation in trading. Some people define mathematics based on mathematical structure, mathematical thinking, its use in other fields and so on.
In general, teachers only use conventional learning. Conventional learning that is intended here is a learning model that is familiar and is often used by teachers in the learning process in class. To overcome these problems researchers will use the Student Facilitator and Explaining learning models in Mathematics in class IV SDN 21 Batang Anai Padang Pariaman. Based on this, the researcher is interested in conducting an experimental study with the title "The Effect of Application of Student Facilitator and Explaining Models on Mathematics Learning Outcomes of Class IV SDN 21 Batang Anai Padang Pariaman"
This type of research is an experimental research design "post-test-only control design". The independent variable in this study is the Student Facilitator and Explaining learning model while the dependent variable is the result of learning Mathematics. The population in this study were all students of class IV SDN 21 Batang Anai Padang Pariaman in the 2018/2019 school year consisting of 2 classes. The samples in this study were 20 students in class IV.A and 20 students in class IV.B were 20 students. The technique in sampling is by total sampling. The data taken in this study are the cognitive learning outcomes of students in the cognitive domain obtained through final tests in the form of objectives and fields. The results showed the average value of the experimental class was higher than the control class (experimental class average value of 79.6 and control class average value of 69.2). In statistical tests the price of tcount> t (0.05; 12) (2.05> 2.03) with a level (α = 0.05) then the H1 hypothesis is accepted. From these data it can be concluded that the Student Facilitator and Explaining
learning model influences the learning outcomes of Grade IV students in Mathematics learning at SDN 21 Batang Anai Padang Pariaman. Thus the Student Facilitator and Explaining learning model is expected to be used in the learning process to have a better influence on student learning outcomes.
