The Relationship between Learning Interest and Science Learning Outcomes of Class V Students of SDN 01 Koto Tangah, Simalanggang District, Payakumbuh

Abstrak

This research is motivated by the low interest and enthusiasm of students in learning science so that student learning outcomes are still below the Minimum Mastery Criteria (KKM). This study aims to determine the relationship between interest in learning with science learning outcomes in class V SDN 01 Koto Tangah Simalanggang District Payakumbuh. The theory used in this study is the theory of interest in learning proposed by Slameto (2013) and Djamarah (2006) and the theory of learning outcomes proposed by Dimyati (2009) and Susanto (2013). This type of research is the correlation with the population of this study is all students of class V SDN 01 Koto Tangah Simalanggang District Payakumbuh in the academic year 2018/2019 as many as 40 students are divided into 2 class that is VA class and VB class. The sampling technique is by purposive sampling. Data collection in this study using a questionnaire instrument. Based on the calculation of Product Moment Correlation analysis using the SPSS 18 program, a significance value of 0.034 was obtained. While the value of Pearson Correlation between learning interest with science learning outcomes is 0.336. the value of r count is greater than r table or significant value is less than 0.05 then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted meaning that there is a relationship between learning interest and learning outcomes. From this study it can be concluded that student interest in learning can improve student learning outcomes. Suggestions from researchers are expected for teachers to vary the learning methods used so that student interest in learning is increasing and student learning outcomes can also increase significantly.
