Abstrak

Education is a learning process for students to have an understanding of something and make it a critical human in thinking. According to Arifmunandar 2018:2) argues that “education is one of the most important needs in life. In order to achieve human civilization, it needs to be taught IPS learning. IPS learning is one of the compulsory subjects in elementary school. And IPS education also provides an important role in achieving national education goals. According to Fajri (2016:99) IPS is a field of science that studies about everything related to society. Based on observations made on Thursday, January 3, 2019 in class IV Negeri 34 Air Pacah Padang. The teaching material used is in the form of printed books or theme books that have been provided in schools in accordance with the 2013 curriculum, and Student Worksheets (LKS) compiled by the Principal Working Group (KKKS) as a source of learning, so students are focused on printed books only
This type of research used is a 4-D development module that is modified to 3-D which consist of the define, design, and development stages. This research was conducted in the even semester of the 2018/2019 school year. The questionnaire validator consisted of 2 lecturers. While the practicality test consists of 1 teacher and 23 students. Data collection techniques, research instruments, and analysis techniques.
Based on the results of the study, it is known that the module validation which resulted from the display aspect and material aspects obtained a percentage of 84,79% categorized as valid. From the results of practicality test by the module teachers produced practically with a percentage 0f 85% and from the results of practicality by the module students produced very pratical with a percentage of 90,76%. From the results of this study it can be concluded that the social studies Contextual Teaching And Learning (CTL) produced is valid and is very practical to be used in social studies learning. So that it can be used in learning in grade IV elementary school.
