Development of Social Studies Learning Modules Based on Contextual Teaching and Learning For Fourth Grade Students in Elementary School 27 Olo Padang

Abstrak

Social studies education will be improved, if children can behave more like scientists for themselves. But in different situations if scientists conduct various experiments to produce a theory, then children conduct experiments to understand a theory or test a The main problem that tends to occur in learning is where teachers tend to only use textbooks available at school as a source for delivering learning material. Therefore, based on this problem, efforts are needed for teachers to change the learning process towards a better where the teacher must be able to compile more creative and innovative learning modules, so the researcher is interested in conducting research with the title "Development of Social Studies Learning Module Based on Contextual Teaching and Learning for Class IV Students at SD Negeri 27 Olo Padang".
This research was designed using the Research and Development (R&D) method. The development procedure in this study followed the steps instructed in the Trianto 4-D development model consisting of define, design, develop, and desseminate. However, due to limited capabilities, this study only reached the third phase of 3-D. The subjects of this study were students in grade IV SD N 27 Olo, with 21 students. Data collection techniques in this study were through a questionnaire (questionnaire).
The results of the study revealed that the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) based IPS learning module for Grade IV elementary school students is in the category of very valid with an average percentage of 96% validity. That means. The modules that have been developed are categorized as very practical with an average practicality percentage of teacher and student responses of 95%. This means that this module can be used by students as learning resources.
From these data it can be concluded that the Social Studies learning module based on Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) can be used both by teachers and students in classroom learning.
