Effects of the Application of the Cooperative Learning Model The Power of Two Against Natural Science Learning Outcomes Class IV SD 94 / III Siulak Deras Kerinci
Abstrak
This study aims to determine the effect of the application of The Power of Two cooperative learning model to the learning outcomes of Class IV science at SDN 94 / III Siulak Deras Kerinci. This research was carried out because learning was still dominated by teachers, learning models that were less varied and the learning outcomes of fourth grade students at SDN 94 / III Siulak Deras on low science subjects. Therefore, it is necessary to have a learning model that can get students actively involved and work together in the learning process by using the power of two cooperative learning model. The Power of Two cooperative learning model has the principle that thinking together is much better than thinking alone. According to Silberman (2013: 173) states that the learning model of The Power of Two is an activity used to enhance learning and emphasize the benefits of synergy, that two heads are better than one.
This type of research is experimental research. The population of this study was all students of class IV SDN 94 / III Siulak Deras Kerinci consisting of 2 classes totaling 61 people, sampling was done using the Total Sampling technique. To determine the experimental class and the control class random sampling and class IV A as the experimental class and class IV B as the control class. Data were analyzed by t test at the level of α = 0.05. The data taken in this study is the score of cognitive science learning outcomes obtained through the final test in an objective form.
The results showed that the average value of the final test of the experimental class (81.89) was higher than the control class (72.73). Based on the hypothesis test the price of t arithmetic ≥ t table is 3.04> 2.01 with α = 0.05. The results of the study concluded that there was an influence on the application of The Power of Two cooperative learning model to the learning outcomes of students in class IV SDN 94 / III Siulak Deras Kerinci. For this reason it is suggested to the teacher to be able to apply The Power of Two cooperative learning model in the Learning process.
