Abstrak
This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes obtained by students in social studies subjects, one of which is because teachers tend not to apply appropriate learning models that can support student success in learning. To overcome these problems researchers will use the Inquiry learning model in social studies subjects in grade IV SD Negeri 18 Koto Hilalang. Based on this, the researcher is interested in conducting an experimental study with the title "The Effect of Inquiry Learning Model on Social Studies Learning Outcomes of Grade IV Students at SD Negeri 18 Koto Hilalang Balingka".
This type of research is an experimental research design "True Experimental Posttest Only Control Design". The independent variable in this study is the Inquiry learning model while the dependent variable is the social studies learning outcome. The population in this study were all students of class IV SD N 18 Koto Hilalang Balingka in the 2019/2020 school year consisting of 2 classes. The sample in this study were 20 students in class IV.A and 20 students in class IV.B were 20 students. The technique in sampling is by random sampling. The data taken in this study are cognitive learning outcomes of cognitive domain students obtained through the final test in an objective form. The results showed the average value of the experimental class was higher than the control class (experimental class average value of 79.65 and control class average value of 64.20). In statistical tests the price of tcount> t table (3.25> 2.10) with a level (α = 0.05) then the hypothesis H1 is accepted. From research results can be concluded that the Inquiry learning model influences the learning outcomes of Grade IV students in Social Studies learning at SD Negeri 18 Koto Hilalang Balingka. Thus the inquiry learning model is expected to be used in the learning process to have a better influence on student learning outcomes.
