Abstrak

Abstract
This study aims to determine the learning outcomes of cognitive biology class VII student of
SMP Negeri 2 VII Koto Sungai Sarik District Padang Pariaman. The research was conducted
at SMP Negeri 2 VII Koto Sungai Sarik District Padang Pariaman which began on March
25th, 2013 and ended on April 13th, 2013. This type of research is experimental research study
design randomized control group posttest-only design. The population in this study were all
students of class VII second semester of SMP Negeri 2 VII Koto Sungai Sarik District Padang
Pariaman Academic Year 2012/2013 consisting of 3 classes. Random sampling conducted.
Then conducted the draw to determine the experimental class and the control class, so that
the derived class is the class VII3 experimental and control class is the class VII2. With a data
analysis technique consists of normality test, homogeneity test and test hypotheses. The
results in this study demonstrate the application of active learning model types Guided Note
Taking a positive impact on improving student learning outcomes with an average value of
77.14 and 68.26 classroom experiment in class with a level of statistical control ( = 0,05).
Can be concluded, that the active learning model types Guided Note Taking biology to
improve learning outcomes of students of class VII SMP Negeri 2 VII Koto Sungai Sarik
District Padang Pariaman.
